Last week was not a good one for me and technology. I booted up my laptop Monday morning to the lovely BSOD (blue screen of death) you see above. This was exacerbated by our internet access being out Monday and Tuesday, which subsequently knocked out the house’s network and thus our shared printer going into Wednesday.
My bus was supposed to leave Portland at 11:30am to take me to Seattle for the Penny Arcade Expo. I figured I’d get down town with an extra 30 minutes to allow me to print my tickets at Kinkos; no dice. Neither FIrefox or Internet Explorer had any luck opening the Greyhound PDF despite Adobe Reader X clearly being on the machine – my guess would be some sort of pop-up blocking software I wasn’t prepared to futz with at a Kinkos.
I arrived at Greyhound at 11:20am with no ticket in-hand and at the end of a short line. I boarded at 11:37am, on the verge of stress induced death.
Apologies for the tardy strip today. Roy has lent me his old dinosaur PC and I’ve been getting it up-to-speed (read: trying to change all his settings so it doesn’t feel alien).
