I’m usually excited to be summoned for jury duty, but then, I remember the reality of what it actually entails. I’ve been summoned three times in my adult life now, reporting twice. Both times I’ve gotten as far as jury selection but never further. In concept I think I might actually enjoy hearing a trial, but I have a tendency to speak up during selection and voice my honest (read: unpopular) opinions, leading to my ultimate dismissal.
Other than that, if you’ve served, you know it’s a lot of sitting around and doing nothing. And if I’m doing nothing in an air conditioned building early in the morning, you’re putting me to sleep.
